Heliacal setting
|
|
A body’s heliacal setting is its last appearance before the Sun’s light swallows it. Its heliacal rising is the first appearance on the far side. The words come from the Greek for the Sun. Every planet has both, and for the Moon the gap between them is a matter of days.

Stanford's “Third Eye” secret just leaked
They redacted everything. Almost.
When the Epstein files dropped...
Something world-changing slipped through the redactions.
A Stanford research project.
Funded in secret. Hidden for decades.
No equipment. No training. No experience needed.
And something inside you... wakes up.
The same "Third Eye" activation technique used by CIA psychic spies at Stanford.
Hidden by the world's elite for decades.
Now ordinary people across the world are using it to manifest wealth, attract love, and unlock abilities they never knew they had.
Starting in just 30 seconds.
You’ll be astonished by what happens next.

The oldest calendars did not begin a month at the conjunction of Sun and Moon, because nobody could watch it happen. The Moon stands at twenty five degrees of Virgo tonight, six percent lit, and within a day or two she will be gone from the sky altogether. That disappearance has a name of its own. It is her heliacal setting.
|
|
Every body in the sky has one, and a heliacal rising to match it on the far side. For thousands of years those two moments were among the most carefully watched events in astronomy, because unlike a conjunction they could be seen. A sighting needs a clear horizon and an early riser. A conjunction needs a calculation. The heliacal rising of Sirius is what set the Egyptian year.
|
|
For the Moon the interval is short. She vanishes a day or two before the conjunction and comes back a day or two after, and the lunar calendars counted the new month from that return rather than from the conjunction itself. Combustion, the doctrine, is this same event rewritten as a judgment. She is void of course from end to end today, having made her last aspect at 18:57 UTC yesterday and making nothing further until she enters Libra at 08:11 UTC tomorrow. A whole calendar day finishing nothing, in a sign she does not own, going dark.
